Iron Pickaxe can mine Ore that a Stone Pickaxe cannot. like Diamond Ore, Gold Ore, Redstone Ore, Emerald Ore. as wel as their forms when crafted to a block.

2 Sticks + 3 Iron Ingots => 1 Iron Pickaxe

In addition, what Iron Pickaxe can't mine is Obsidian which we need Diamond Pickaxe to mine it.

Iron Pickaxe is the second in durability and the fastest pickaxe after the Diamond Pickaxe.
