Wooden Pickaxe
A Wooden Pickaxe is used for mining basic blocks, such as Stone. It is also useful in mining Coal Ore or Nether Quartz Ore. It cannot mine any other ores besides Coal Ore and Nether Quartz Ore.
A Wooden Pickaxe is very useful in the early stages of Minecraft, but can be discarded when other, stronger alternatives such as Stone (which requires Wooden Pickaxes to mine) and even Iron Pickaxes become available.

- A Wooden Pickaxe is the slowest and second-least durable Pickaxe in the game.
- It is the slower but more durable equivalent of the Gold Pickaxe.
- The Wooden Pickaxe is the only wood tool needed to be crafted at the start of a Minecraft game as the player needs it to mine the Stone necessary to craft more durable tools.
- Wooden Pickaxes can be used as fuel for Furnaces.
